The reason I don’t like Michael Jordan is not to hate on the man because he is my favorite basketball player ever to me. Nobody can do what that man did when he got a chance to get that ball. Michael Jordan come to find out after all these years my idle isn’t what he seem.
For years, I woke up early in the morning to get up and get me a pair of “JAYS”. It wasn’t just me that was doing it; as long as I can remember it was hundreds of kids at my school was doing the same thing. We all did the kids around the neighborhood would go outside earlier than all the others kids so they can show off their new “JAYS”. Everybody mother in the hood would be broke just because they wanted their kids to have the freshest “JAYS” out.
Now, you know just as good as I know everybody in your neighborhoods if you grew up in the type of environment that I did then everybody in your area listened to rap music right? There Countless rappers that promote that man shoes they made songs about them, they talk about his shoes in different songs, they even wore his shoes in movies, they’ve played in and in videos. Anytime, you have a hot rapper that does that you can bet that man pockets increase. Michael Jordan, is a very smart person and a very wealthy businessman so I know he knows that. I’m pretty sure he has heard a few of them songs or somebody had to tell him how much of an effect that rap music has on his pockets.
I was chilling with my little brother one day and we watching a DVD and one of the guys from BET was talking {I can’t remember the man name but I’m pretty sure you have seen him. I heard him speaking on when he met Michael Jordan after an award show I think but he said Michael Jordan wouldn’t turn around and talked to him. He had ask Michael Jordan to say a few words for BET and Michael Jordan looked at him and said, “ I don’t even like rap music”. Then he said, he turn around answered, a few questions for a white lady.
I’m not saying that Michael Jordan has to like rap music because if he don’t then he just don’t. I do feel he owe the rap a little credit for their promotion. Excuse my language but NIGGAS in the hood-died everyday since the day he put them shoes out. NIGGAS have been locked up for a long time trying to get his shoes. By me being a music artist myself that’s why I may have took such a strongly offense to the comment but I know one thing if a NIGGA don’t show to the ones who help you get where you got rather you like them or not I don’t show love to that person. I’m from the hood so Yall can tell Michael Jordan I said fuck him and I will not buy another pair of Jordan’s. I think we should let him see how much we were an impact on his success. Some people forget who took care of them when they golf with collar shirts every day.
