If you’re planning on writing a research paper following these steps will help you to write the best research paper possible. A good ideal when looking for a subject is to find a subject that’s interesting to you. A good subject would be a subject worth your time in investigating and one that you would have the necessary time for you find information and materials valuable. This is an important step when writing a research paper. Once you’ve figured out what subject you want to write about the next step is finding articles that relate to your subject. Read good informative articles to find out your whether or not the subject is too board or too narrow. You must know your subject limitations and by strongly researching you should find out. After you’ve selected a subject you've fully researched and feel strongly about the next is creating a temporary thesis statement and outline. You need to figure out how you will work with your topic. Finding out personal facts, the environment of the subject, life influences, the subject's life, and other significance influences on the subject. It’s not such a good idea to just state ideas and opinions the way that you read them. Write down bibliographies relating to your subject. This can provide books from authors who’ve studied, documented, or have experience in relation to your subject topic. You can search for these bibliographies at a library or on the internet. Finding the right bibliographies is important to finding the right thesis statement. Taking notes for researched sources is very important when writing a research paper. Using material like small cards to write down important relevant sources can make writing your research paper a lot easier once you’ve began the writing process. A good idea when writing down notes for your research paper is to only write down one source per card. After you've written down the source you can then expend from it by writing down other ideas that come to mind relating to it. After you have your note cards finished now you want to go back over your outline. If you have something in your outline that’s similar to your note card revise it into the best possible source. It’s now time to write your first draft. It’s always good to outline, source, and document as much material as you possible can but sooner or later you have to begin writing a first draft. Although it’s your first draft don’t slack off with writing it and proceed to writing it as if it was your only draft. Before you begin writing your first draft make sure you have all of your citations available. This includes thesis statements, outlines, note cards, bibliographies, and any other material you’ve written down or collected to help with writing your research paper. Now that you’ve finished writing your first draft it’s time to review and revise your work. Correct any spelling errors. Make such you have good sentence structure. Identify your thesis statement. Make sure your paragraphs flow well and there aren’t any duplicates. Duplicates meaning if you were to summarize one of your paragraphs with another and get the same point or meaning. That's a duplicate. The last step is making sure your research paper is unique and correctly formatted. If your using apa guidelines make sure your research paper is structured correct in apa style. Be sure you’ve cited all your sources and it's in the correct format. Look for anything that could be considered plagiarism. Plagiarism isn’t good and only leads to bad things so make such your research paper has no plagiarism by correctly using in-text citations referring to the author or other sources and by not copying then pasting work of others as if it was your own.
